SOMERVILLE, Mass.--Naveo Credit Union has donated 40 backpacks to the Somerville Homeless Coalition (SHC) to be distributed to local families in shelter at the Project SOUP food pantry.
Naveo donated backpacks with its old logo that were leftover from its name change. SHC is facilitating the distribution of the backpacks at their shelter and with other partner shelters.
“I am pleased that we are able to donate backpacks, since they are usually excluded in school supply donations due to their higher cost. We appreciate SHC making the backpacks readily available in our community to anyone that needs them in shelter,” said Rui F. Domingos, Chief Executive Officer at Naveo Credit Union.
