COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.– As thousands of Colorado students prepare to start the school year, AventaCares, the nonprofit foundation of Aventa Credit Union, hosted its first annual drive to raise funds and collect school supplies to prepare students in need for the school year.
AventaCares raised more than $600 in school supplies and monetary donations from Aventa Credit Union staff and members. These will be donated directly to schools in the three regions served by Aventa Credit Union: Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and the San Luis Valley.
“Many families are struggling this time of year to provide their kids with all the required school supplies. Supporting our local youth and their education is very important at AventaCares; we are truly grateful knowing we have made an impact in their lives”, says Julie Gwisdalla, an AventaCares Board Member.
