COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.–Aventa Credit Union hosted its second Electronic Waste Event where nearly six tons of material was collected.
Through a longstanding partnership held with local business, Blue Star Recyclers, Aventa said it provided a second opportunity for the membership to "Clear out the Clutter!"
The event gave the membership and community an opportunity to safely and efficiently dispose of electronics while being conscious of protecting any personal information, the CU noted.
It was hosted at ACU’s Cascade location in Colorado Springs and was free of charge. Aventa said it held its first electronic waste event in 2019 and saw a great response from the community.
This year's event allowed for more than 11,500 lbs. of material to be safely destroyed or recycled, including computers, displays, general e- waste, media tapes and discs.
