Avadian CU Awards Grants

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–Avadian Credit Union has formed the Avadian Foundation and awarded the first grants to organizations in Alabama that are addressing needs in four key areas identified as the focus for the Foundation.

“We formed the foundation as an outgrowth of our commitment to helping people,” said Linda Cencula, president and CEO of Avadian. “We want to support the financial well-being of the people in the communities around us to create a more inclusive future for all by investing in affordable housing, financial health, small business development and education across our membership footprint.”

The organizations receiving the inaugural grants from the Foundation are UNCF, the Habitat for Humanity of the River Valley, the A.G. Gaston Boys and Girls Club, the Literacy Council of Central Alabama, the Salvation Army, Woodlawn United and the Alabama Small Business Development Initiative – a non-profit affiliate of the Birmingham Business Resource Center.
