HUNT VALLEY, Md.–Atlantic Financial Federal Credit Union has remained steadfast in helping its 10,000+ members persevere through the coronavirus pandemic.
“AFFCU was poised to serve its members during the challenging times of economic uncertainty brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said President and CEO Matthew Piazza. “The team here at AFFCU has remained strong and nimble, quickly adapting to changes while remaining committed to serving our members and helping to ensure their financial well-being. I am proud to say that over the past several weeks our team has worked with our members to provide $500,000 in emergency hardship loans, processed over 560 free skip-a-pay requests, and assisted members with 163 loan adjustments.”
In addition to its member support, the credit union recently awarded a total of $20,000 through its Member Support Grant. One-hundred recipients were selected and recently awarded $200 each in no obligation funds.
“The response was eye-opening,” said Piazza. “Over 500 members applied for this grant. While we expected a fair level of interest and an opportunity to help some of our members, the response reconfirmed the impact that we can have on our members and the community we serve. As a member-owned cooperative, our purpose and focus is on supporting our members’ financial well-being. We will continue to find ways to fulfill our mission to enrich our members' lives through consistent, exceptional member experiences. This pandemic has shown how we at AFFCU embody the people helping people motto and act first to find ways to support our members over anything else.”
