ATLANTA--Atlanta Postal Credit Union (APCU) has appointed Timothy Payne to its Board of Directors.
Payne will fill Director Post #9, which was recently vacated when Thad (Bud) H. Wilkinson resigned after nearly two decades as a director.
Wilkinson had served as a member of APCU’s Board since June 2002 – and he proved to be a valuable asset to the organization during his nearly 20 years of service. Wilkinson served a majority of his tenure on the Board as Board Chaplin and also spent time as the Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO) Chairman.
“We appreciate all the hard work and dedication Mr. Wilkinson has exhibited toward the credit union all these years – and he will be missed,” said APCU Board Chairman Don DeCinque. “At the same time, the Board couldn’t be more excited to work alongside Mr. Payne in his new role. We recognize the knowledge and experience he brings to the credit union and we look forward to his service as an APCU director volunteer.”
Payne began his career as a USPS City Carrier in Conyers, Ga., in 1979 and retired in 2012 as Postmaster. He has served on the APCU Credit Committee since June 2014 and is also involved with the United Postmaster and Managers of America (UPMA).
“Mr. Payne understands the credit union and the hardworking men and women it serves,” said APCU President/CEO Chuck Head. “I have no doubt he will provide a great deal of value in his new role and I’m pleased to welcome him aboard.”
