Astera CU Promotes Tyle, Hires Posthumus

LANSING, Mich.--Astera Credit Union announced that Chris Tyler has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations. In this role he will oversee Astera’s Branch and Call Center operations, Human Resources, Employee Growth & Development, Marketing, and Business Development areas.
Tyler joined the Astera team in 2013 as the manager of the Jolly Road Branch.  He served as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources from 2014 to 2016 and Vice President of Human Resources from 2017 on.  Prior to working at Astera, he worked in various roles in the credit union industry since 2006 including Branch Operations, Credit Card Servicing & Fraud Prevention, Remote Services, and Call Center.  He holds an Associate in Media Technology from Lansing Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management from Michigan State University, a Master of Business Administration from Northwood University, and holds the CHRS and PHR human resources designations.

“I am very excited for this transition and to begin serving the members and staff of Astera Credit Union in new and different ways through this, expanded role,” said Tyler.

The CU also announced that Lisa Posthumus has joined the organization as its new Vice President of Lending effective July 30, 2018.

Posthumus joins Astera Credit Union with more than 26 years of financial institution experience where in addition to experience as a Vice President of Lending overseeing Mortgage, Consumer and Commercial Lending she has also held positions including, Branch Management, Member Services, and Operations. Most recently she served as the Retail Operations Manager at Compass Credit Union where she oversaw daily operations of all branch personnel including branch management, MSR’s, new accounts and consumer lenders.

Posthumus is a graduate of Cornerstone University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
