EAST HARTFORD, Conn.–American Eagle Financial Credit Union was recognized by CUNA and the Credit Union League of Connecticut (CULCT) with multiple awards at APEX 2022—Connecticut credit unions’ annual conference and award ceremony at Mohegan Sun Resort. This marked the second consecutive year American Eagle FCU received multiple awards for its distinguished service to their members, work within the community and advocacy for credit unions.

2022 CUNA Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award
American Eagle was awarded the 2022 Herring Award for its new Credit-Builder Program to support households with limited financial resources, also known as ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households. The Credit-Builder loan helps members establish and repair their credit through a 0% interest loan secured by a CD. -
2022 CULCT Wild Card Award for Cybersecurity Awareness
The CULCT recognized American Eagle with a 2022 Wild Card Award for the Credit Union’s efforts in promoting cybersecurity awareness—including educating the public on how to safely enjoy online banking and warning against fraudulent activities and cybercriminals. -
2022 CULCT Excellence in Public Relations Marketing
The CULCT recognized American Eagle with a 2022 Excellence in Public Relations Award for the Credit Union’s December 2021 campaign “Delivering Holiday Cheer in Hampden County,” where AEFCU representatives personally delivered holiday treats and free tickets to Bright Nights at Forest Park to groups of people, including frontline workers, who experienced a challenging year.
