American Eagle Financial Soars With Social Media Campaign

EAST HARTFORD, Conn.– American Eagle Financial Credit Union is reporting it saw great success with a recent social media campaign.

American Eagle Financial Credit Union, along with the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, presetnted the top vote getters from five non-profit organizations with their portion of $10,000 in charitable grants at American Eagle’s offices here.

The non-profit organizations were pre-selected to participate in the “Help Choose a Charity Campaign.” The organizations were chosen based on their locality and AEFCU’s three areas of charitable focus: education and youth, basic human needs, and community development. Winners were awarded a monetary grant based on the total number of votes received in an online poll among AEFCU members and non-members on the American Eagle Financial Credit Union Facebook page.

The top winners receiving $3,500 each were: The Cornerstone Foundation with 532 votes and Gifts of Love & Community Farm of Simsbury with 404 votes. The runner-ups, each receiving $1,000, are Billings Forge Community Center with 162 votes, Families in Crisis, Inc. with 231 votes, and City Slicker Kids with 30 votes.

“This is truly what American Eagle Financial Credit Union feels strongly about and that is supporting our local non-profits, which, in turn, support our entire local community. Congratulations to this year’s charitable grant recipients and thank you for all that you do,” said American Eagle Financial Credit Union President & CEO Dean Marchessault.

The $1.4-billion American Eagle Financial has 110,000 members.
