American Eagle Employees Support Local Charities

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. – Employees of American Eagle Financial Credit Union (AEFCU) generated $11,140 in payroll donations that are supporting local community-based charitable efforts.

That number puts American Eagle employee donations at $23,307 for 2021 so far. Last year, AEFCU employees donated over $58,400 to local community organizations, the CU said.

In recognition of Pride Month in June, the Eagle Team at American Eagle Financial Credit Union selected New Haven Pride Cameras as the recipient of $5,396 representing the second quarter employee payroll donations from its Jeans Fridays campaign, for the April 1-June 30 period.

In addition, employees contributed an additional $3,197 to the United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut and $2,547 to the American Eagle Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving during the second quarter.

The New Haven Pride Center is one of Connecticut's leading LGBTQ+ nonprofit organizations that provides both local and state-wide impact. Funds donated by the employees of American Eagle Financial Credit Union will be used throughout the summer to foster dynamic and community-oriented programming that will provide Connecticut's vastly diverse LGBTQ+ community with rich opportunities to come together for shared experiences and learn from each other’s differences and similarities.
