EAST HARTFORD, Conn.–American Eagle Financial Credit Union employees volunteered their time to lend a helping hand sprucing up the Mosaic Group Home in Bloomfield, Conn. Annually, AEFCU partners with the United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut for their “Year of Caring Project.” This is a one-time project, where volunteers share their time and talents at a location in the local community that their company serves, the credit union said.
Mosaic is an organization in Connecticut that provides high-quality individualized services to adults with intellectual disabilities. Through their work, Mosaic provides services to 20 communities in Connecticut, where people with disabilities live in a variety of residential arrangements suited to their specific needs and abilities. AEFCU volunteers worked on specific tasks at the group home, such as mulching, planting mums, weeding, and trimming brush to clean up the front of the house. In addition, two rooms in the interior of the house were painted for the residents that live there.
“Partnering with the United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut for their “Year of Caring Project” is a great way for AEFCU employees to volunteer and give back to the communities we serve,” said American Eagle Financial Credit Union President & CEO, Dean Marchessault.
