JACKSON, Mich. — American 1 Credit Union, has partnered with Jackson YMCA and Henry Ford Allegiance Health to donate $5,416 for funding and awareness for the American Heart Association through its inaugural Step to the Beat 5K event.
The 5K took place June 14 through June 30. To maximize event proceeds, American 1 Credit Union covered the costs of the event t-shirts and medals.
“Thank you to our sponsors, participants, and volunteers who helped make this event possible,” said Martha Fuerstenau, president/CEO of American 1 Credit Union. “I’m grateful so many people took the time to raise awareness for finding a cure for heart disease, while also being active themselves. Our financial situations have the ability to impact our bodies, both mentally and physically, and it’s our honor to help unite these organizations to impact our community.”
The virtual 5K was sponsored by Avenue Auto, Lomar Machine & Tool Co., Orbitform, Jackson College, Team 1 Plastics, Central Security Alarm, Inc., Jackson YMCA, Henry Ford Allegiance Health, Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, Huff Auto Group, Jackson Auto, Miller Shoes, JTV, Brooks Shoes, ProLogo, and Northwest Schools.
