JACKSON, Mich.–- American 1 Credit Union hosted the third year of Soup Wars at the American 1 Event Center at the Jackson County. The event’s purpose was to raise awareness of community hunger and proceeds were donated to the Jackson Interfaith Shelter.
A variety of soups from some of the Jackson areas best restaurants were available including Reuben soup, pepper jack sausage and potato, Golumpki soup, and seafood bisque. The restaurant that claimed the title of 2016 Soup Wars Champion was Bone Island Grille with a chicken enchilada soup. Scoring was based off of pre-event donations, event day donations, as well as scoring from the three guest judges.
More than $3,000 was raised for the Jackson Interfaith Shelter. American 1 donated an additional $200 to the Jackson Interfaith Shelter on behalf of the Soup Wars champion, Bone Island Grille.
