Altura CU Fund For Shooting Victims Hits $20,000

RIVERSIDE, Calif.–– Altura Credit Union announced that $10,842 has been donated by Altura members and the community for the victims and families of the Dec. 2 San Bernardino shooting.  Altura contributed a $10,000 matching donation to bring the fund’s total to $20,842. Altura set up the Inland Empire United Relief Fund on Dec. 4 in response to the tragedy.Donations were accepted through Jan. 8.

Altura is donating the $20,842 to the San Bernardino United Relief Fund, which was created by the Arrowhead United Way and the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors.  Because the Arrowhead United Way will not deduct any administrative or other fees, 100% of all donations will be used for the victims, families and others directly affected by the Dec. 2 shooting.

“The Inland Empire is a tight knit community and we felt it was important to show our solidarity with those directly impacted by the terrible events in San Bernardino,” said Jennifer Binkley, Altura’s chief operating officer.  “It was heart warming to see our staff, members and the community come together to help ease the financial hardships these families may be facing.”
