Alpena Alcona Area CU Supports Numerous Initiatives

ALPENA, Mich.– Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union has engaged in a number of activities to benefit its communities.

Among the efforts:

AAACU raised $2,542.63 in monetary donations for Art in the Loft R.E.A.C.H Program. 

R.E.A.C.H provides students with special needs from Alpena High School, Thunder Bay Junior High, and Pied Piper an opportunity to learn vital life-skills that better their education while instilling confidence and self-efficacy to be successful in all aspects of their life. 

Along with member donations, Alpena Main Office team members sold candy bars, held various raffles, and donated $2 per employee to dress down on Fridays to help raise funds for Art in the Loft R.E.A.C.H Program.

Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union raised $821.30 in monetary donations for Hospice of Michigan (HOM). HOM is the largest hospice provider in the state of Michigan serving over 4,700 patients annually throughout 46 counties. HOM welcomes those who are uninsured, or whose treatment is more expensive than what other hospices can provide. They depend on the financial support of donors such AAACU for treatments, medications, grief support, and spiritual care of patients and families in need, the credit union said.

Along with member donations, our Alpena North Branch team members sold candy bars, held various raffles, and donated $2 per employee to dress down on Fridays to help raise funds for Hospice of Michigan.

Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union also raised $375.67 in monetary donations for the Atlanta Baby Basket. The Atlanta Baby Basket offers free food, clothing, and baby supplies to new parents throughout Montmorency County. The funds raised will be used to purchase new and like new supplies and food.  Along with member donations, Atlanta Branch team members sold candy bars, held various raffles, and donated $2 per employee to dress down on Fridays to help raise funds for the Atlanta Baby Basket.
