ALPENA, Mich.–Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union raised $278.18 for Iosco Toys for Tots.
Iosco Toys for Tots works to ensure children from less fortunate families throughout the community will have toys, books, and other various gifts to open during the holiday season.
Along with member donations, the Tawas Branch team members sold candy bars, held various raffles, and donated $2 per employee to dress down on Fridays to help raise funds for Iosco Toys for Tots.
Separately, AAACU raised $1,216.69 in monetary donations for Chester, Oscoda Area Schools Therapy Dog.
AAACU said it is proud to be the “Hall of Fame” level sponsor for Chester, which helped to purchase him and provide him with the training necessary for Chester to be present within the school.
Chester is available to students to help make a positive impact on the school climate and culture, with hopes of increasing school attendance, student confidence, decreasing student anxiety, and creating positive changes towards learning and relationships with peers and teachers, the credit union said.
