FAIRHAVEN, Mass.– Alltrust Credit Union recently celebrated its 100th anniversary.
Alltrust Credit Union, formerly known as Southern Massachusetts Telephone Workers Credit Union and Southern Massachusetts Credit Union, was chartered on Nov. 8, 1922. It has since grown to more than $330 million in assets with more than 13,000 throughout six counties in Massachusetts and the whole state of Rhode Island.
In 2021, the name change from Southern Massachusetts Credit Union to Alltrust Credit Union was made to “better express the service and values the credit union practices. Throughout these changes, Alltrust Credit Union’s focus has remained on their members, providing them a successful financial journey,” the CU said.
“We would not be here if it weren't for the dedication our members have, the leadership our board members hold, and the determination our staff shows,” stated Carmen Sylvester, president and Chief Executive Officer. “Our work does not stop today. We will continue to be a trustworthy credit union and financial partner for our members.”
Alltrust was presented a celebratory plaque by Ron McLean, president and CEO of the Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA). the state and federal level.
