Allied FCU Collects School Supplies, Donates to Schools

ARLINGTON, Texas-- Allied Federal Credit Union staff and members donated school supplies throughout the summer at AlliedFCU branches to help four local schools provide these supplies to students who may not be able to afford them.

Staff delivered school supplies and $350to each of these local schools: Speer Elementary, Erma Nash Elementary, Williams Elementary and Ousley Junior High.

Both monetary and school supply donations were part of AlliedFCU’s Casual for a Cause Program. This program allows employees to dress casually at work in exchange for donations to monthly causes selected by an employee committee. Credit union members participated in this initiative and increased the amount of aid provided to schools.

“We couldn’t have done this without not only our staff’s support, but our members as well. Our members donated massive amounts of school supplies and contributed to monetary donations. It was amazing,” said Sarah Ramos, AVP of experience. “When the community’s children need help, we all pull together to give kids the tools they need for a successful school year.”
