MONTGOMERY, Ala.– The Alabama Credit Union Association, a subsidiary of The League of Credit Unions, has recognized State Representative Jeff Sorrells (AL-87) as 2024 State Lawmaker of the Year Award in Alabama.
“Representative Sorrells’ consistent support and his proactive approach to addressing key issues, like the ATV Titling legislation, make him an outstanding leader for credit unions,” said Michelle Roth, Vice President of Advocacy for The League. “We are fortunate to have such a strong advocate for financial services in office and look forward to his continued leadership.”
Serving in the Alabama House of Representatives since 2019, Sorrells has been a champion for his district and the state. As Vice President at First National Bank of Hartford and active on boards like the Wiregrass Economic Development Corporation, Sorrells has consistently demonstrated a strong understanding of financial services and community development. Sorrells’ service extends beyond legislation. He also serves on several key committees, including Rules, General Fund, Health, and Financial Services.
“As a strong believer in financial literacy for all, I am proud to support organizations in their work to improve the lives of the constituents of Alabama,” said Sorrells. “Drawing on my financial institution experience, I am committed to advancing initiatives that expand access to vital financial resources.”
