LAKEVILLE, Minn.– Affinity Plus has named Kelly Flaherty new manager of the credit union’s Lakeville, Minn. branch.
Flaherty has worked for Affinity Plus since 2011, and most recently was assistant branch manager at the credit union’s Roseville, Minn., branch.In that role, he partnered with the branch manager to ensure branch operational excellence at Affinity Plus’s largest and highest-volume branch. He also assisted in training, recruitment and retention of employees, and provided continual coaching and support for their team.Flaherty, originally from Grand Rapids, Minn., began as a member advisor in both Grand Rapids and St. Paul for four years. From May 2013 to January 2015 he also worked as a knowledge resource center specialist and employee resource and development specialist.In those roles, he helped administrate the credit union’s internal knowledge base; developed tools to help employees understand policies and procedures; developed and delivered employee training content; and assisted in organizational recruitment.Flaherty earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and organizational leadership, with an emphasis in human resources, from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul in 2013. He earned an associate of arts degree from Itasca Community College in 2010.He is active with the Affinity Plus Foundation’s Educator’s Group; is a Red Cross Blood drive coordinator; is a Roseville (Minn.) DECA Ambassador; and is an Upper Midwest Great Dane Volunteer. In his spare time, he and his spouse, Joey, like to travel and spend time with their two Great Danes.
