Affinity Plus Cuts Ribbon on Branch

CAMBRIDGE, Minn.–  Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union celebrated its new Cambridge branch  with a grand opening that welcomed nearly 200 people to tour the larger space, hear from leaders and enjoy food and refreshments.

“This is a really exciting time for Affinity Plus, for our community and for our members,” said LeAnne Larson, market manager in Cambridge. “We didn’t move far, but we think we’ve really given our members the branch of the future they want and deserve.”

Affinity Plus moved in late May from a smaller nearby location to the stand-alone building with nearly twice the square footage at 1990 2nd Ave. SE, just off Minnesota Highway 95 on the community’s east side. She noted that the credit union has been in Cambridge for 35 years, first serving state employees and then increasing a diverse community membership through the decades.

The new facility features a much-larger lobby with an expanded teller line and waiting area; three drive-thru lanes, including a dedicated, 24-hour ATM lane; and more private spaces for one-on-one conversations with loan officers, investment specialists and other Affinity Plus staff.

Dave Larson, Affinity Plus President/CEO, reminded participants that Cambridge-area members have a special relationship with their branch, and have never been shy about sharing their dreams.

“Over the years, we have gotten a lot of feedback about our Cambridge facility, that we needed to improve to meet the needs of our members,” he said. “We believe we've done that, and hopefully members feel the same way."
