CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Achieva Credit Union has announced a strategic partnership with the Cape Coral Municipal Charter School Foundation that executives expect to eventually raise thousands of dollars. For the first time, Achieva Credit Union has agreed to make a donation to the Foundation on behalf of any new member who joins the credit union and has an association or chooses to support the Charter School.
“With our heritage as a teachers’ credit union we are always looking for opportunities to help our local schools, and we want our actions to directly impact the teachers and students in the classroom as much as possible,” said Andrew Lampkins, Vice President of Market Development.
Achieva said its individual donations will vary from $25 to $350, based on factors such as the types of products and services the new members select. There is no specified end date for the program, though Lampkins hopes people will quickly take advantage of the program as there are several needs for the school.
“Our Foundation is always looking for new businesses that can help us grow our financial resources while becoming a long term partner,” noted Chris Porter, President of the Cape Coral Municipal Charter School Foundation. “We have been first-hand witnesses of how Achieva has impacted our schools with their support already, and once again they continue to reach out to strengthen that partnership.” The Foundation returns 100 percent of all funds back to the school ensuring that every dollar has a maximum impact on students and teachers.
Leaders from Achieva and Cape Coral Municipal Charter Schools have worked together over the past several months to develop this initiative. Known for its many fun community events to support public education, this initiative is the first of its kind. In addition to fundraising, Achieva employees are also volunteering to teach several financial literacy classes and working with elementary students to help them open their first savings accounts through a program called Kids Make Cents in the elementary schools.
