ALPENA, Mich.–Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union’s board and committee volunteers made a donation to St. Vincent’s over the holiday season.
Several years ago the CU’s volunteers suggested the CU forego purchasing Christmas gifts for them and instead donate the funds to a charity or organization in the communities served by the CU. This year, the board chose to make a donation to St. Vincent’s to help families in need.
AAACU said through a partnership with Meijer, the funds donated were used to help purchase food for families in need. St. Vincent’s also provided emergency services, shelter, dental care and more.
This year for Giving Tuesday AAACU pledged to match any donation made to ACC’s campaign up to $10,000. In just one day 156 donors made contributions. With AAACU’s match of $10,000 a total of $32,710.23 was donated to ACC’s Healthy Futures Start Here Campaign.
