ALPENA , Mich.–Alpena Alcona Area CU has donated $1,000 to Alpena County 4H.
4H provides hands-on skills in various fields such as agriculture, as well as scholarships. Funds from the donation will assist 4H programs throughout the area.
In addition, AAACU supported its local economy by joining in Credit Union (CU) Lunch Local, which was started by Michigan Business Connection, and which was held in conjunction with International Credit Union Week. The goal is to support local communities by dedicating dollars spent that day to local restaurants.
AAACU participated in CU Lunch Local by providing team members with lunch from various local restaurants throughout the communities where it has office locations.
Also on International CU Day, AAACU offered small gift giveaways at each office location.
Finally, Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union recently made a $1,000 donation to Oscoda Assembly of God Grocery Giveaway Program.
The Grocery Giveaway Program is a collective group of several area congregations working together to provide food for area residents. The congregations partner with The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan providing roughly 250 families with groceries the fourth Tuesday of each month.
AAACU’s donation will be used to purchase a truck load of food to be distributed at their monthly giveaway event.
