AUSTIN, Texas – A+ Federal Credit Union announced that its fifth high school branch in Central Texas will open August 2017 at Akins High School in Austin Independent School District (AISD). The Akins High School branch will be open to the public.
This is the fifth high school branch in the Central Texas region but will be the first within AISD. As part of the partnership between Akins High School and A+FCU, the branch will be staffed by paid high school interns who will also receive school credit.
The school will also have its own custom Akins Eagle debit card. The card, designed by Akins High School student Casey Coffman, was unveiled on May 1, 2017, with a $500 check presentation to Coffma
Members who use the Akins Eagle debit card will not only earn cash back to their own accounts, but will earn cash back for Akins High School. Each signature-based transaction will earn 10¢ for the member and 10¢ for the school.

Our goal is to improve students' financial literacy and money management skills through hands-on learning.
