AUSTIN, Texas–The A+ Education Foundation, the philanthropic arm of A+ Federal Credit Union (A+FCU), said it continues its commitment to education by awarding more than $108,400 in grants to 87 Central Texas educators.
Altogether, the A+ Education Foundation has awarded over $1.4 million in grants since the program’s inception in 2005
“These grants are meant to supplement the creative and innovative strategies that educators use to enrich the learning of their students. The A+ Education Foundation is proud to invest in these educators," Georgia L. Johnson, A+ Education Foundation president, said in a statement.
The credit union said some examples of how grant funds will be used to enrich student learning include:
- Continuing professional education
- Interactive lab and art materials
- Robots for coding exploration in primary schools
- Therapy dogs for reading growth and emotional regulation
- Accessible books for students with reading disabilities
