LAKELAND, Fla. – More than 400 employees from MIDFLORIDA Credit Union came together to help build 45 children’s bicycles for well-deserving kids at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay.
“During this heartwarming event, MIDFLORIDA's leadership staff demonstrated their commitment to making a meaningful impact in the community by dedicating their time and effort to a worthy cause,” the credit union said. “Each assembled bicycle represents not only a gift for a child but also a symbol of hope and joy for families in the Tampa Bay area.”
"The enthusiasm and dedication of our employees in giving back to the community was truly inspiring," added Vanessa Hernandez, chief of retail at MIDFLORIDA. "Seeing their passion and the joy it brings to the children and families we support reminds us why we do what we do."
MIDFLORIDA Credit Union said it has long been dedicated to supporting the communities it serves, and that the event exemplifies the credit union's ongoing commitment to giving back and investing in the future of local youth.
All 21 MIDFLORIDA branches served as pickup destinations for the children (Littles) and their mentors (Bigs) to receive the bicycles. The partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay aims to empower young individuals and support their growth and development, the CU said.
"Helping organize this event was extremely rewarding, and seeing the joy on the children's faces as they picked up their bicycles was truly priceless," shared VP Marketing, Lisa Ashbury. "MIDFLORIDA Credit Union has always believed in the philosophy of people helping people, and we're committed to making a positive impact all across Florida."
