3 Minnesotans Indicted Into CU House Hall of Fame

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Three Minnesotans were among the individuals inducted into the 2019 Credit Union House Hall of Leaders in Washington. Inductees exemplify the “people helping people” philosophy and have demonstrated a commitment to inspiring others in the credit union movement.

The inductees include:

  • George Rossez began his career in 1962 with Minnesota Catholic Credit Union (formerly St John’s of New Canada Credit Union) as Manager.  Over the course of his career, Minnesota Catholic expanded its field of membership to more parishes and grew assets to over $33 million with 3 locations. In 1983, he joined the Board of Directors at Minnesota Catholic, a position he holds to this day.”George inspires others to give back and make a difference in their community and the movement through his leadership and community volunteerism,” the MnCUN said. 
  • Kay Rossez began her career with Minnesota Catholic Credit Union, then known as St John’s Credit Union, in 1982 when computers were just being introduced into businesses.  She oversaw the credit union’s implementation of computerization and its move into the Little Canada location where the headquarters still resides today. In 2002, Kay retired from the credit union and then a few years later led the Supervisory Committee at Minnesota Catholic Credit Union. Kay and George Rossez have been married for 57 years and have two grown sons.
  • Barb Brown started at Northwoods Credit Union in 1987 as a teller and moved on to become president/ CEO in 2003. Throughout her career, Barb held many positions in all departments of the credit union. Under her leadership, she helped grow Northwoods from 5,000 members and $36 million in assets to more than 10,000 members and over $110 million in assets. “As President/CEO, Barb was dedicated to the grow Northwoods and demonstrated the ‘people helping people’ philosophy. She used resources to train the entire staff to educate their members on personal finance. Barb also led innovation in products and services such as mobile banking and deposits.”
