HAWTHORNE, Calif.–SkyOne FCU said it is proud to announce that its CFS Financial Advisor, Geoffrey Palenik, and CFS Financial Associate, Alex Choi, have both obtained the designation of Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant practitioner.
SkyOne said members that are employed by the federal government can now benefit from the assistance of ChFEBC practitioners highly knowledgeable in federal employee benefits.
A ChFEBC (Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant) is a designation for financial advisors, CPAs, attorneys, and certain federal government employees who have successfully completed an intensive training course and passed a rigorous examination covering all federal employee benefits.
Highly complex and specialized, federal employee benefits include a wide range of retirement and insurance services, including Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) pension, Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) pension, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), life and health insurance, social security, and more. In addition, there are special provisions for certain federal occupations, such as air traffic controllers, law enforcement officers and firefighters, which differ from other federal employees’ benefits.

SkyOne’s CFS Financial Advisor, Geoffrey Palenik, has also obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) certification and the Certified Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) designation to better assist members’ financial planning needs.
