SONOMA, Calif—Redwood Credit Union’s wholly-owned subsidiary, RCU Services Group, has named John Wheatley as Property & Casualty Insurance General Manager for RCU Insurance Services, the Credit Union’s insurance agency located at 446 West Napa Street in Sonoma.
As RCU Insurance Services’ Property & Casualty Insurance General Manager, Mr. Wheatley will manage daily operations of the insurance agency, including overseeing sales and customer service, staffing, training, vendor relationships, and promotions.
John Wheatley has more than 22 years’ experience in insurance services and management, and has served as a sales leader at Allstate and at State Farm. He was previously an agency executive as well as an agency field consultant. He also owned his own State Farm agency. He recently relocated from southern California to Sonoma County. His licenses include Life, Health, Variable Annuities, Property Casualty and Series 6, 63, 26 and 51 licenses.

Earlier this year, RCU Insurance Services purchased SST Insurance Brokers in Sonoma in order to improve its program with local in-person consultations and other added benefits to its existing insurance offerings for individuals and businesses.
