U-1st FCU Joins CO-OP Shared Branching Through CUSN

CARLSBAD, N.M.–U-1stCommunity FCU here has joined the CO-OP Shared Branching network through CU Service NetworkThe credit union’s branch here will be quite a welcome addition to the network, the company said, as U-1st now offers the only shared branch within a 160-mile radius.

Their branch will join the 5,600 other branches that are a part of CO-OP Shared Branching.

“As a credit union, our number-one reason for being here is to provide service to members,” said Theresa Quinonez, CEO of U-1st Community FCU. “Whether they are ours or not, it really does not make a difference.”

Booming Market

The shared branch will receive extra attention here, as CUSN reported the city isexperiencing an oil and gas boom and is growing exponentially, attracting individuals from all over the nation to work in the Permian Basin. 

“A shared branch will provide these recent transplants a way to connect with their hometown credit unions, allowing them to make deposits, withdrawals, payments and more,” CUSN said.
