DES MOINES, Iowa– Shazia Manus, CEO of payments processor TMG, has been named the winner of a Gold Stevie Award in the Female Executive of the Year – Business Services category.
Part of the 13th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business, the honor recognizes Manus for her tremendous contributions to TMG’s success, the company said.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards were presented during a dinner event attended by more than 500 people in New York City.
“As a result of Shazia’s visionary leadership and continuous innovation, TMG today serves seven of the 13 largest U.S. credit unions and continually offers increased value to its clients,” said Patrick S. Jury, CEO and Chairman of Affiliates Management Co., the parent company of TMG. “This is a well-deserved honor and reflects Shazia’s ability to expertly navigate TMG through the evolving payments landscape.”
Among the judges’ comments was this remark commending Manus for her keen sense of the payments industry: “Manus clearly has an excellent grasp of business strategy, marketing, community values and consumer service. That under her leadership TMG increased growth by a factor of three in the highly competitive card processing field says it all.”
A second judge – one of more than 250 worldwide who participated in the judging process – commented on Manus’ advocacy for women in leadership roles: “Manus is motivating other women by example. That’s the easiest way to reach others by stories. Her leadership is commendable.”
