“It’s going to be more difficult for some of our businesses to push the limits,” said TMG CEO Shazia Manus in her Summit opening remarks. “Pushing the limits to reinvent our business is exactly what is needed now more than ever. It’s going to be uncomfortable, and it’s going to get your heart racing at times. But, the adventure of reinventing your financial institution will be exhilarating.”

This year marked the first time the TMG Executive Summit was hosted internationally, and the event drew a record number of client, prospect and partner attendees, the company reported. According to TMG Vice President of Marketing Georgann Smith, Canada was chosen for its pursuit of payments innovation, including early-mover positioning with EMV, contactless and mobile technology.

Presenters included a mix of payments industry experts and others from outside the payments space. Headliners included TED speaker and best-selling author Josh Linkner and former White House economic adviser Todd Buchholz.

TMG also organized a number of activities for attendees to experience the beauty of Vancouver. These included a guided ecotour of the West Coast Rainforest from the world’s highest suspension bridge; an aerial tour of the city and harbor of Vancouver aboard a seaplane; and a conference-concluding dinner cruise. Aboard the cruise ship, TMG Executive Summit attendees took front-row seats for the longest-running offshore fireworks competition in the world, The Celebration of Lights.
