MUSKEGO, Wis. – QuantyPhi balance sheet optimization services has announced its annual Strategic ALM Conference will be held April 17–18 at Corporate Central Credit Union here. The two-day educational event will provide attendees with insights into asset liability management (ALM) best practices, and offer strategic solutions for building strong, flexible, and resilient balance sheets, QuantyPhi said.
ALM professionals will also learn how to set benchmarks that lead the way to consistent performance success. Registration is open until Monday, April 9.
“With the Fed Funds rate target now at 1.75% and another hike looming on the horizon, the question remains: Where do credit unions go from here?” said Kevin Chiappetta, QuantyPhi President. “Our answer to that question is: Build a solid ALM process that helps you manage your credit union’s balance sheet across the spectrum of interest rates. There is always opportunity on both sides of your balance sheet. You can make risk work for you like assets work for you.”
QuantyPhi reported the conference will offer participants two educational tracks from which to choose:
- Basic track: Designed for credit union CEOs, CFOs, ALCO members and financial management staff seeking to acquire a better understanding of ALM fundamentals. Attendees will learn about interest rate risk and key interest rate risk measurement.
- Advanced track: Designed for credit union staff directly responsible for monitoring and managing interest rate risk. Attendees will learn about advanced topics such as liquidity risk management, portfolio benchmarking, and aligning investment analysis with rate risk position.
In addition to daily breakout sessions for each educational track, attendees will participate in full group sessions focused on non-maturity deposits, potential liquidity crises, conservative ALM models, and balance sheet case studies. Participants will also gain regulatory insights during a presentation from Marcus Council, a Capital Markets Specialist in the Office of National Examinations and Supervision at NCUA. Throughout the conference, QuantyPhi said it will provide networking lunches, as well as dinner on Tuesday.
