ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.–For the ninth consecutive year, PSCU said it will be a primary sponsor behind the 2016 Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run in Washington, D.C., one of several races that are part of the Credit Union Miracle Day family of races.
Money raised from the races goes to medical care at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals nationwide.
“PSCU is honored to help finance this very special event that helps so many children around the country receive the treatment they need,” said Chuck Fagan, PSCU President and CEO. “The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run is the perfect opportunity to increase awareness on Capitol Hill about the dedication that credit unions demonstrate to help their local communities thrive.”
The 44th edition of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run is set for April 3, 2016. The 2016 run will mark the 15th year of title sponsorship by CUMD. Since 2002, the event (or “the Runner’s Rite of Spring” as it’s known) has raised more than $7 million for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
In addition to the Washington D.C. race, the CUMD Family of Races this year includes the Credit Union SacTown Ten-Mile Run in Sacramento‚ Calif., also on April 3‚ and two Freedom Ten Mile Runs for U.S. troops overseas.
All funds are distributed based on where the contributions are collected. Funds raised support the entire network of the 170 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
PSCU said it will be sending two teams of runners to the Washington, D.C. event who were selected in a company-wide lottery from all PSCU locations.
