Meridian Trust Selects Symitar's EASE for Core Processing

CHEYENNE, Wyo.–Meridian Trust FCU has selected the EASE data processing solution, the outsourced delivery model of the Episys core platform, from Symitar, a unit of Jack Henry & Associates.

Meridian Trust first partnered with Symitar in 2010 when it converted to Episys through an in-house delivery model. As the time came to update its servers, the credit union elected to migrate to an outsourced delivery model for its core architecture, eliminating the need to dedicate valuable employee resources to hardware and software maintenance, the company said.

According to Karen Woodul, senior vice president of Meridian Trust, “Our main goal is to help members achieve financial success. We want to provide the best banking experience with products and solutions that support every aspect of their financial lives. The migration to EASE has enabled us to make great progress toward this goal by fast-tracking our technology wish list and freeing our IT team to do what they do best.”

The company said the time and cost savings afforded by EASE has enabled Meridian Trust to add many of the features that have been on its multi-year plan, including  consolidating its mobile banking, online banking, and mobile app. The credit union also expedited its implementation of Advanced Reporting for Credit Unions (ARCU), which will be used to more easily access member data and begin member-focused initiatives, such as a credit card rewards program. It also added Refi Analyzer, which can help members reduce their interest rates by using near-real-time analysis of credit reports to identify loan refinance opportunities, according to Symitar.
