La Macchia Group Client CUs Mark Number of New Facilities, Grand Openings

MILWAUKEE, Wis.–A number of credit union clients of La Macchia Group are celebrating the opening of innovative new facilities.

Among the developments:

  • In Streator, Ill., Streator Onized Credit Union (SOCU) held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of their new live renovation and 6,000 square-foot addition at their Owens branch location. SOCU worked with La Macchia Group on the Pontiac branch and selected the company again as a partner again for their new project.

According to La Macchia Group, the new branch will feature similar design aspects as the Pontiac branch such as the distinctive tower and branded elements throughout the space. A main goal of this branch is to create a space inviting and open to members and staff alike. La Macchia Group said it has created a well-planned layout that will fit the needs of SOCU. The new layout will feature dynamic colors accenting their brand, a unique ceiling with cloud-like features and impactful lighting to make the space fresh and lively.

  • In Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Quest FCU held a groundbreaking ceremony commemorating its new facility, which is being designed and built by La Macchia Group.

"We are excited about this new opportunity for Quest to expand into the Upper Sandusky area to serve our members. We look forward to a wonderful facility built by our local subcontractors and La Macchia Group," said Matt Jennings, CEO of Quest Federal Credit Union.

Ralph La Macchia, president of La Macchia Group, spoke at the ceremony wishing future success for the new branch and expressing excitement for this new partnership with Quest and the opportunity to bring them a facility designed for their specific needs.

  • In Walker, Mich., AAC Credit Union held a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome their members and the community to visit their new main office and check out their new, award-winning brand. “Working with La Macchia Group has been a pleasure. We are so excited about our new main office and brand. We thank everyone for coming to help us celebrate this new chapter in our AAC story,” commented Brian Turmell, CEO of AAC CU.

AAC Credit Union’s history is tied to the local furniture industry, which is very prominent in Western Michigan, and their new building incorporates this heritage by featuring locally made furniture.  Michigan-made Herman Miller furniture was incorporated showcasing AAC’s ties back to the Western Michigan furniture industry.

Local subcontractors were used to build the new building under the direction of La Macchia Group thus keeping consistent with sourcing through community talent. The location of the new facility was acquired to maximize visibility, accessibility, and a prime area near their target demographic – a strategic decision La Macchia Group said it made following an in-depth planning study. New technology was implemented in the lobby including custom teller pods instead of the traditional teller line featuring cash dispensary machines.
