HAPO Community CU Breaks Ground on Momentum-Led Branch Project

VANCOUVER, Wash.–HAPO Community Credit Union has broken ground on its newest branch here. The project is being led by Momentum, a national plan-design-build firm.

According to Momentum, the standalone regional branch is designed to meet the Well Building Standard, a building standard that focuses on sustainability and the wellness of the staff and members using the facility. HAPO will be the first credit union to achieve WELL Certification.

“The WELL Building Standard takes a holistic approach to wellness, and to become certified nearly every element of the building’s design must take the wellbeing of its occupants into consideration,” Momentum said. “Some noteworthy features being incorporated into this building are interior lighting that matches the color of outdoor light to improve circadian rhythms, a living wall and other design elements inspired by nature, large amounts of natural light with glare control, and sit to stand desks.”

HAPO will also support the employees’ overall health through fitness incentives, such as gym subsidies and onsite fitness classes.

“The WELL Building Standard represents the next level of sustainability and wellness oriented design and construction,” said Jim Haack, President of Momentum. “HAPO is very focused on supporting their staff and members, and we’re excited to partner with them on this elevated investment in the communities HAPO serves.”

The branch will be completed and open for business in early spring of 2018.
