FMSI Releases Workforce Utilization Study

ATLANTA–FMSI has released its 2016 Workforce Utilization Study, including a compilation of staff utilization metrics from over 1,000 financial institution branches across North America.

“In a hyper-competitive environment made even more challenging by continued economic uncertainty, efficient branch staffing is crucial,” said Chad Davis, SVP of Marketing of FMSI.  “With the data and analysis from this study, executive management teams will have a guide to help them meet account holder expectations for prompt, professional service without excessive idle time—setting themselves apart in the marketplace, both in terms of quality of service and financial performance.”

According to FMSI, the white paper presents key findings around retail branch banking workforce utilization, including:

  • See front-line staff workforce utilization percentage averages
  • Learn how to better track, measure, identify, and redirect undesired staff downtime
  • Compare/validate the effectiveness of your current branch staff scheduling practices

"Our 2016 Workforce Utilization study has detailed branch staff utilization data that you can't get anywhere else," Davis said. "Many financial institutions have enormous potential to increase staff productivity and branch service by better capturing, measuring and managing their workforce utilization."
