FMSI Enhances Staff Scheduler With new Editor

ATLANTA– FMSI has unveiled a new schedule editor—the latest enhancement for its industry leading Omnix Staff Scheduler. The new upgrade enables users to more quickly and easily adjust staff schedules on the fly, leading to improved workforce optimization and branch service, the company said.

“The often clunky day-to-day refinement process of staff schedules can lead to an unacceptable level of excess staffing, or worse, vulnerability in branch service,” said Meredith Deen, President of FMSI.  “Our new schedule editor virtually eliminates the frustrations associated with the constant changes in staff schedules, allowing managers to effortlessly adjust employee schedules as needed.  By simply dragging-and-dropping the appropriate staff into the clearly indicated desired spots—highlighted by a new overlaying needs graph—the software makes it easier than ever to prepare an optimized and service-oriented schedule.”

FMSI said its scheduling solution is a web-based system that creates optimum work schedules—matching employee work preferences with account-holder traffic patterns at the branch, based on the analysis of historic and forecasted transactions.  According to the company, the FMSI scheduler provides:

  • Full branch scheduling (now including platform/lobby employees)
  • Better cross utilization of employees within the branch
  • Payroll-based scheduling to need and tasks, plus idle time identified
  • User-defined rotations, including fair distribution of “less desirable shifts”
  • More robust task assignments
  • Enhanced resource exchange sharing and Float Pool Management
  • Smart-phone compatibility so your staff can retrieve their schedules on their phones

“Each and every branch carries with it a complex and unique set of staffing requirements,” Deen added. “In some cases, these requirements can be so complicated that a traditional workforce optimization scheduler cannot easily handle them.  Our new schedule editor was designed to tackle these types of scenarios head on, and we’re excited for financial institutions
