MADISON, Wis. - CUNA Mutual Group has promoted Cedric Ellis to Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer. Ellis joined CUNA Mutual Group in 2005 and previously served as a senior vice president.

He also plays a crucial leadership role in our talent acquisition, development, succession planning and retention efforts.”
Ellis led the company’s plan to reduce health care costs by managing an initiative to build two on-site clinics at CUNA Mutual Group’s Madison and Waverly, Iowa offices. He also has been instrumental in elevating the company’s focus and commitment to diversity and inclusion, which has positively impacted the company’s corporate strategy and local reputation.
Ellis cares deeply about making a positive impact in the community and donates his time and talents to several local organizations, including Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Dane County. He is also a member of the Governor’s Council on Workforce Investment (CWI) and the CWI partnership development committee.
Before joining CUNA Mutual Group, Ellis served as senior vice president of HR for the Atlantic region of Wachovia. During his career, he has held senior HR positions at Fireman’s Fund, Aetna and The Hartford. He has been recognized for his contributions in succession planning, designing HR delivery models; helping to rebuild Fireman’s Fund New York City office from an HR perspective after the 9/11 terrorist attacks; serving as the enterprise-wide diversity strategy work team of global insurer Allianz, the parent company of Fireman’s Fund; and managing human resources for field offices and branches employing more than 10,000 people.
