BEAUMONT, Texas–Education First FCU here has partnered with NewGround to break ground on a new “tech forward” headquarters.
The new headquarters facility for Education First Federal Credit Union measures at approximately 26,000 square feet with the potential expansion of an additional 18,000 square feet. The two-story structural frame features full masonry exterior that consists of face brick facades highlighted by natural stone base elements and the entrance has striking steel frame elements that open to a two-story atrium, according to Chesterfield, Mo.-based NewGround.
In addition, NewGround reported the new facility will function as both the operations center for the credit union while also providing a full retail mortgage center for members. The floor plans are designed based on an open plan work environment. Additional features include standard offices and modular workstations for employees, a variety of closed conference rooms, open collaboration spaces, and a multi-service employee break area.
“The credit union has outfitted the building throughout with the latest audiovisual technology,” NewGround said. “The lobby includes a large digital display that highlights the credit union’s history and products/services.”
NewGround added that its design team investigated various options showing how the Credit Union could construct the new facility on-site while keeping the existing facility operational. The building was successfully constructed as a replacement facility on the same property as their old main office.
“NewGround was honored to partner with Education First Federal Credit Union on this project,” said Kevin Blair, President and CEO of NewGround. “This state-of-the-art headquarters will function as a tech-forward space with that will drive growth.”
