CUs Urged to Recognize Their #CreditUnionHeroes, Raise Funds for CMN

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.–CO-OP Financial Services has introduced a new #CreditUnionHeroes campaign aimed at recognizing those within credit unions who have exemplified the spirit of “people helping people” over the last few weeks.

“From the service agents on the front lines that support our members in need, to our colleagues and leaders offering emotional support, to the moms and dads working while taking care of their kids at home – our movement is full of everyday heroes and stories of kindness and compassion,” CO-OP said.

Unable to continue its “shades up” campaign, which donated money to Children’s Miracle Network each time a person posted a selfie from an airplane showing them next to a window in which the shade was up, the new social media campaign aims to continue to raise funds for CMN.

$10 Donation

Through CO-OP’s THINK 20 conference (August 17, 2020), for every story posted with the hashtag #CreditUnionHeroes and tagging @CO-OPFS, CO-OP will donate $10 to both Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the National Credit Union Foundation, up to $10,000.

To nominate someone as a “credit union hero,” people are being asked to post a short description of the heroic act on their Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn profile, using the hashtag #CreditUnionHeroes and tagging @CO-OPFS.
