MADISON, Wis. – CUNA Mutual Group has announced David Sweitzer will lead its Wealth Management business, which includes CUNA Brokerage Services, Inc., and the company’s financial advisor network and wealth management products. Sweitzer succeeds Jeff Bosco, who leaves the company after five years.
“We have invested millions of dollars into our Wealth Management business over the past two years to advance technology, sales training and product development, and we’re making tremendous progress,” said CUNA Mutual CEO Robert N. Trunzo in a statement. “Our commitment remains steadfast, and we are further elevating this business by placing a stronger emphasis on consumers, and supporting the success of our financial advisors.”
Sweitzer has a long history working with credit unions and in financial services, having joined CUNA Mutual Group in 1991. He has held numerous leadership roles in sales management, customer call centers and small business development, and was most recently senior vice president of sales. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
“We have a clear and bright path ahead for our Wealth Management business, and David is a proven and respected sales and business leader,” Trunzo said. “I can think of no one better suited to lead us through this next phase.”
Sweitzer, who begins his leadership accountabilities immediately, said CUNA Mutual Group’s Wealth Management business is ripe for continued growth. “I’m very energized by this new opportunity,” Sweitzer said. “Our commitment and focus remains on breaking down barriers to financial security for all and helping more people gain financial security through the power of investing.”
