CUES Recognizes May 2016 CEO Institute Graduates; Adds Content To Governance Leadership Institute

MADISON, Wis.—Thirty-four credit union executives have become the latest to complete all three years of CUES’ executive education program, CEO Institute. In addition, 21 of the graduates earned their Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designation, signifying their ongoing commitment to professional development. They join the ranks of 570 credit union leaders who have also obtained their CCE, and who are recognized throughout the credit union movement as having established a standard of educational excellence.

The three-part graduate-level program takes participants through the full spectrum of leadership preparation. Each of the intensive, week-long programs is held at a renowned business school: CEO Institute I: Strategic Planning, at the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School, Philadelphia; CEO Institute II: Organizational Effectiveness, at Cornell University, Johnson Graduate School of Management, Ithaca, N.Y.; and CEO Institute III: Strategic Leadership Development, at the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business, Charlottesville, Va.

CUES reported that due to high demand it has added CEO Institute summer sessions to its lineup:

* CEO Institute II: Organizational Effectiveness, August 7-12, 2016, Samuel Curtis Johnson School of Management, Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y

* CEO Institute III: Strategic Leadership Development, August 21 - 26, 2016, University of Virginia, Darden School of Business, Charlottesville, Va.

CUES Updates Content For Upcoming Governance Leadership Institute

Separately, the 2016 CUES Governance Leadership Institute scheduled for June 12-15 at the Rotman School of Management, at the University of Toronto will feature newly updated content.

“We’ve enhanced the program based on research on highly effective credit union boards and best practices they employ,” said Richard Powers, academic director, Rotman School of Management. “Plus, we’ve added new credit union specific case studies, and included discussion time for topics credit union directors have specifically requested.”

“Attendees can expect to receive the same great education from and interactions with top Rotman faculty,” said John Pembroke, CUES’ president/CEO. “Our institutes are highly valuable educational experiences in large part because we partner with the finest business schools in the world, and custom design our curriculum for credit union leaders and board members. CUES Governance Leadership Institute is no exception.”

CUES said that credit union board members and executives are eligible to attend, and can earn up to 27 continuing professional education credits. Attendees are eligible to earn the prestigious Certified Credit Union Director (CCD) designation. Key points of discussion include:
