CUAD Names McDonald as Chief Officer of Strategic Services

BISMARCK, N.D. – The Credit Union Association of the Dakotas (CUAD) has announced the promotion of George McDonald to Chief Officer of Strategic Services. McDonald joined the CUAD staff in August of 2016 as the Director of Multimedia Services, and served as project manager for association initiatives and was chiefly responsible for multimedia content creation, and event planning. In his new position, McDonald will continue those duties, but will have expanded responsibilities including direct oversight of the Dakota League Service Corps, the for-profit division of the cooperative financial trade association.

All association non-dues supported initiatives fall into the Strategic Services objective, including education and conferences, multimedia services, vendor partnerships, credit union resources, and the licensed Pee Wee Youth Savings program. As the head of CUAD’s Strategic Services, McDonald will diligently and proactively work with and select business partners and providers that will help credit unions grow and remain strong and relevant in an ever-changing financial service environment.

“Having George head up our non-dues revenue business will open up all kinds of new possibilities for our members and help them remain strong and competitive in the ever-changing financial marketplace,” stated Jeff Olson, CUAD President/CEO. “His previous successes and experience working for a large corporation will be a great resource for us in providing innovative products, operational solutions, and new technologies,” he added.

McDonald has vast professional experience in public relations and marketing, including fifteen years with MDU Resources Group in corporate communications. He also acted as creative services director and operations manager in the broadcasting industry, production manager for a graphics and video production studio and was an instructor at the University of Mary in Bismarck.

“George has brought an arsenal of skills and experience to CUAD that our association is fortunate to have and share,” concluded Olson. “We are very excited to see him take on these new challenges and responsibilities that will provide enhanced benefits for our member credit unions.”
