LIBERTY LAKE, Wash.—CU*NorthWest announced that it recently migrated its core production and high availability environment to the latest POWER8 server technology.
The CUSO is utilizing these new servers to serve credit unions across the nation shared between three group providers, the CUSO said.
“The new IBM server, which handles the daily core data processing for credit unions from the data center in Yankton, was replaced with a new IBM POWER8 server,” said Kinsey Hiett, CU*NorthWest AVP of operations. “There was a lot of hard work put in by skilled team members and the execution was completed in a timely, non-disruptive manner and we couldn’t be happier with the results.”
“We were thrilled to move to this new IBM platform for its performance boost and the reliability we have always had from our IBM core servers,” added Hiett. “Its capacity to grow along with us is good for the future evolution of our CUSO. We will also be able to manage our operations more cost effectively as demand for our CU*BASE suite continues to grow.”
Separately, CU*NorthWest announced that County Schools FCU of Ventura, Calif., successfully converted to the CU*BASE data processing system. The credit union represents 7,400 members and $53.7 million in assets.
County Schools FCU was able to offer its members new and improved services through CU*NorthWest including It’s Me 247 Online Banking, mobile banking, and electronic document storage. Credit union staff will have access to a wide variety of tracking and reporting dashboards as part of the comprehensive data processing system, allowing them to better serve existing members, CU*NorthWest said.
County Schools FCU represents the 12th California-based credit union currently utilizing CU*NorthWest for core processing services, with two more California credit unions pending conversion.
