Meanwhile, CU*Answers also recently held its 3rd annual corporate “Continuity Awareness Day” as part of their business continuity awareness and training program to help demonstrate the commitment at all levels for emergency response and recovery planning.
“A strong business continuity program requires building resilience in three key categories: People, Processes and Technology. On this day, the focus is on people, and preparing for emergencies must begin in the home,” states Jim Lawrence, CBCP, Manager of Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption Services at CU*Answers.
To help raise awareness, employees were provided self-charging emergency led flashlight/radio/cellphone chargers for use during power disruptions at home or when traveling, and emergency preparedness training, including checklists to identify critical supplies, procedures, and inventory of vital records in the home.
Business continuity awareness and training is a part of daily operations at CU*Answers involving new employee orientation and regular employee education classes to high availability production rollover exercises and annual disaster recovery tests, the company said.
