ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.–Eight teams and their ideas have been selected as part of PSCU’s Knockout competition.
That competition, reported here, http://www.cutoday.info/THE-feature/It-s-A-Knockout-Teams-Presenting-Ideas-Today-After-24-Straight-Hours-of-Work gives those teams 24 hours to develop and idea and present it to a team of judges. The list of eight teams below will be further narrowed to three in the coming weeks, and then an open, online vote will select the winner. PSCU will then work to bring the winning idea to market.
The finalists teams, the team members and the ideas are:
- Accrual Intentions (First South Financial, Memphis; PenFed Credit Union, Alexandria, Va.; State Employees’ CU, Raleigh, N.C.; VyStar CU, Jacksonville, Fla.), for charitable contribution app.
- Debit Dynomite (PSCU, St. Petersburg, Fla.), for idea to provide cardholders with an alert to let them know their plastic has been shipped.
- Hawaiian Punch (Hawaii State FCU, Honolulu), for app that allows members to obtain real-time lending.
- Lava Rush (HawaiiUSA FCU, Honolulu), for app that allows crowdfunding for life events.
- Team French Toasts (PSCU, St. Petersburg, Fla.), for a business-to-consumer marketing firm within PSCU to create media for individual credit unions to be deployed via social media, television, etc.
- Team Haymakers (Consumers Credit Union, Kalamazoo, Mich.), for an widget that enables credit card holders to create and track spending limits.
- Team MoPRO Active (Flag Credit Union, Tallahassee, Fla.; and PSCU), for pop-up features that eliminate collections calls in early delinquency stages, offers multiple payment options, and enhances member experience.
- Team Phoenix (Arizona State Credit Union, Phoenix, Arizona; PSCU, St. Petersburg), for feature that allows members who have their debit cards shut down due to fraud to create a new pin, enabling them to continue using the card for ATM transactions for up to seven days while waiting for a new card to arrive.
