And Alloya's 10th and Final Winner Is...

NAPERVILLE, Ill.—The tenth and final winner in Alloya Corporate FCU’s “10 for 10 for 10” initiative has been named: Hilltop Neighborhood House, Inc.

As CUToday.info has reported, Alloya celebrated its 10th anniversary by  donating $10,000 to 10 charities over 10 days.

Hilltop Neighborhood House, Inc. was nominated by REGIONAL Federal Credit Union in Hammond, Ind.

Since 1995, Hilltop Neighborhood House has empowered the community and strengthened families by providing a place to learn, grow and belong. The organization is located in a disadvantaged, low-income community in Porter County, Ind., where neighbors are likely to benefit from a variety of community services, including childcare in order to maintain employment, educational services in order to improve their employment potential, supplemental food when food is scarce and there is no grocery store within walking distance, and social ties that support their daily lives, Alloya said.

A team member at REGIONAL Federal Credit Union spent several years serving on the board of Hilltop Neighborhood House and witnessed firsthand the impact that the organization has had on families across the community.

“Childcare starts at 6:00 am and ends at 6:00 pm, which may not seem like a big deal, but these hours allow parents to work while their child(ren) are in a safe, warm and educational setting,” said Kevin Kosek, vice president of marketing and business development at REGIONAL Federal Credit Union.

‘Rolled Up Their Sleeves’

“When existing food pantries could not accommodate all the families in need during the pandemic, Hilltop Neighborhood House rolled up their sleeves and established a physical pantry with partnerships to supply food, all within a year. This is critical not only for Hilltop families, but the entire community as there is no grocery store within walking distance,” Kosek continued. “Hilltop Neighborhood House is the glue that holds families together and allows them to help themselves.”

REGIONAL Federal Credit Union serves over 23,000 members in Lake and Porter Counties in Indiana.

“Alloya congratulates REGIONAL Federal Credit Union and Hilltop Neighborhood House for being the tenth and final winner of the 10 for 10 for 10 charitable donation program,” Alloya said.

The Selection Process

The 10 for 10 for 10 charity nomination and selection process is being driven by Alloya’s 1,400 credit union members, the corporate said. In total, credit unions nominated 101 charities between Sept. 27 and Oct. 8. In the days leading up to its 10-year anniversary, Alloya is announcing the winners of its charitable donation program through a daily announcement at 10:00 am CT on its website at www.alloyacorp.org/winyour10.
